Cosmet’Agora 2026 and new ingredients of BASF

Cosmet’Agora, organized by the French Aesthetic Society, is the key event for cosmetic and health care formulations. Over two days, the event will allow visitors to learn about the latest trends: raw materials, textures, new technologies and safety and efficacy testing. The event will bring together representatives from the following fields: toxicologists, manufacturers, distributors and importers of raw materials, packaging designers, contract formulators, marketing managers, esthetics students, safety and efficacy assessment laboratories, project leaders, brand creators and technology start-ups.

At this year’s Cosmet’Agora, held in Paris from January 13 to 14, BASF’s Personal Care division took its vision beyond beauty by celebrating uniqueness and self-expression in the cosmetics industry.

The company unveiled a new formulation concept at the show that emphasizes cross-combination and cross-combination solutions and unique sensory experiences that align with consumer demands.

The concept includes formulations for long-lasting skin care, hair care and body wash with care, environmentally friendly UV protection (assessed with BASF’s EcoSun® Pass technology) and healthy radiant makeup. Supported by innovative technologies and responsible ingredient selection, these formulations combine effective and preventive solutions with extraordinary textures.

The two formulations that BASF introduced at the event are:

1- Aloversil: A cosmetic with potent natural peptides designed to support the appearance of thicker hair in men experiencing visible signs of hair loss. This new ingredient helps maintain a healthy scalp environment, which is the key to stronger, thicker and more resilient hair.

2- Dehyquart S18: Biodegradable softening agent for softer, healthier hair with INCI: Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, this cationic softening agent is intended for use in hair care formulations, especially conditioners, hair masks and hair treatments. It is an effective and natural alternative to stable quaternary ammonium compounds (quats), which are traditionally used to achieve softening results in hair care products. It is also suitable for formulations with silicone alternatives as well as for vegan and animal-free formulation concepts. It forms a smooth layer on the hair surface under acidic pH conditions, increasing hair combability in both dry and wet conditions. It also improves hair softness even at low doses and provides reliable protection against frizz in high humidity.
