Algin/Sodium Alginate
Algin, also known as sodium alginate, is commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products due to its hydrating and soothing properties. It is also used as a thickening agent in cosmetic formulations, improving the texture and viscosity of the products it is added to. Hydrolyzed algin is another form of algin obtained by breaking down larger molecules into smaller fragments, which enhances its solubility and ability to penetrate the skin. Algin is typically a fine, white powder and is often used in combination with other natural ingredients such as glycerin and aloe vera.
