Introducing an in-store AI tool for skin diagnosis

Clarins is a French, family-owned multinational cosmetics company founded in Paris in 1954. Recently Clarins has introduced the AI Skin Observer, a new in-store skin diagnosis tool designed to support beauty advisors with AI-powered analysis during customer consultations.

The device is being deployed across 20 stores globally, including locations at John Lewis London, Paris, Milan, New York, Dubai, Shanghai.

Clarins has also launched a simplified online version via its website in markets including the US, UK and France.

The AI Skin Observer combines biophysical sensors with facial imaging and multiple lighting modes to analysis up to 22 skin parameters, providing additional diagnostic insight to complement existing in-store consultations.

Clarins’ rollout signals growing momentum behind beauty tech-enabled retail services, as brands look to enhance the precision and consistency of skin analysis while keeping the consultation experience advisor-led. The launch also strengthens Clarins’ Beauty Tech pipeline following previous innovations including the Lip Oil Factory and the MyBlend LED mask.
