Polyquaternium-68
Polyquaternium refers to the presence of quaternary ammonium centers in the polymer. They are positively charged polymers and neutralize the negative charge of most shampoos and hair proteins.
Polyquaternium-68 is a copolymer consisting of vinylpyrrolidone, methacrylamide, vinylimidazole, and quaternized vinylimidazole. Specifically, it’s a cationic copolymer.
It is a cationic styling polymer ideally suited to hair mousses where it offers a high degree of setting due to its high molecular weight with excellent curl retention. It also delivers the additional benefits of volume and heat protection.
