Glycol Distearate

Glycol Distearate (also named Ethylene Glycol Distearate(EGDS)) may be produced via the esterification of stearic acid (or its esters) with ethylene glycol. It can also be produced by a reaction of stearic acid with ethylene oxide. Glycol distearate is an opacifier and pearling agent used in cleansing products making them white and glossy.
