Airipon (INCI: sodium lauryl ether sulfate)

Airipon (sodium lauryl ether sulfate) is an anionic surfactant that reduces the surface tension between ingredients and is one of the most widely used and consumed surfactants. This substance is used in a variety of hair care, skin care and home care products.

Sodium laureth sulfate (SLES) is prepared from the ethoxylation of dodecyl alcohol, which is derived from palm kernel oil or coconut oil. The sulfation process is then carried out and lauric acid is produced, but due to the instability of the acid produced, the neutralization process is carried out with sodium hydroxide and sodium laureth sulfate is produced.

It is used as a cleaning and foaming agent. It is milder and less irritating than sodium lauryl sulfa(SLS). It’s structure:

The specifications of the Airipon (in accordance with INSO:6835) are as follows:

Property Value
Anionic active 68-72%
PH(5%in water) 7 to 9
Dry residue 71.5-75.5%
