STYRENE/ACRYLATES COPOLYMER

Styrene/acrylates copolymer is a synthetic ingredient made from a chain of polymers and monomers that consist of styrene, methacrylic acid, and an ester.

Sodium Styrene/acrylates copolymer is a highly versatile opacifier for anionic surfactant-based systems. It is best suited for formulations with slightly acidic to moderate PH range, containing up to moderate levels of inorganic  electrolytes like shampoos and fatty acid based liquid hand soaps.

It is added to cosmetic and skin care products for color or for its opaque properties. It forms a film and does not penetrate the skin because it has fairly large molecules.

It is suitable for cosmetics and personal care formulations.
