Announcing the 2025 Sustainable Beauty Winners

The 2025 Sustainable Beauty Awards reception was hosted at the Crowne Plaza Paris – Republique hotel on 22nd October.

The winners of the 2025 Sustainable Beauty Awards have been announced. Around 130 senior executives from the beauty industry attended the awards reception in Paris.

The Sustainable Beauty Awards celebrate brands, companies, and innovators who are advancing the sustainability agenda through ground-breaking products, ingredients, packaging, or initiatives. The judging panel selected the following winners:

Sustainable Ingredient

Gold – Lucas Meyer Cosmetics by Clariant (PICKMULSE™)
The quinoa-based Pickering emulsifier is made from organic quinoa seeds from the Bolivian altiplano.

Silver – BioTara (Tucuma Butter)
Made from Tucuma fruits ethically sourced from the Amazon region in Brazil.

New Sustainable Product

Gold – Ringana (FRESH Volume Shampoo)
The COSMOS-certified organic shampoo contains plant-based ingredients, including mushroom extract complex, fermented rice water, and a sugar beet–derived copolymer.

Silver – Kheoni Wellness (Kokum Body Butter Moisturizing Bar)
This palm oil-free solid moisturizer is made from kokum sourced from tribal communities in the southern forests of India.

Sustainable Packaging

Gold – CAHM Europe (QPearl)
An innovative biomaterial that replaces plastic packaging for shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, and related products. The protein-based material dissolves in water and biodegrades.

Silver – Occeanne
Uses ocean plastic in its hand wash bottles.

Silver – SMCG Glass
Produces cosmetic packaging made with 60% Post-Consumer Recycled glass.

Sustainability Pioneer

Gold – Laverana
Recognized for a holistic approach to sustainability, including investment in research and science, reforestation projects, and sustainable packaging.

Silver – Croda Beauty
Awarded for expanding biodegradability data for its functional ingredient portfolio, ensuring a minimum of 90% biodegradability.

Sustainability Start-Up

Gold – C16 Biosciences
A New York-based organization using precision fermentation to make palm oil alternatives from renewable feedstock.

Silver – Bamboovement
A Dutch start-up producing plastic-free oral care and shaving products. Its disposable razor is made from upcycled wood waste and bio-base
