A total of 101 makeup and skincare products competed for the coveted awards at the event. Awards were presented in five categories: Packaging, Accessories, Full Service, Ingredients/Formulation and Ocean Beauty
1. The Packaging Innovation Award went to FusionPKG Beautylab for its Verve Airless Freeform design, which, unlike traditional airless containers, which are often cylindrical, features a sculptural, non-cylindrical shape that offers design freedom in form, finish and bold colors. The packaging is available in PET and is metal-free, is recyclable in standard streams and allows for almost complete emptying of the packaging contents. The jury noted: “Interesting extrusion-free manufacturing technology with highly efficient content discharge.”
2- In the accessories category, the award went to Element Packaging’s PeaceOut Instant Oil Control Roller, made with Halloysite clay from Dragonite and said to be one of the purest Halloysite clays in the world. The product is claimed to effectively cleanse the skin while absorbing excess oil and impurities, and comes in a compact, ergonomic, refillable case made from post-consumer resin. The jury described it as sensual, functional and effective.
3- In the full-service category, Italian contract cosmetics manufacturer Red Of View won for Next Chrome Glaze, a holographic highlighter with a multi-chrome finish with a wet look. Its 3D effect is “thanks to innovative raw materials and a patent-pending magnetic process.” The formula, housed in a single-use container, contains magnetic beads with A color effect that interacts with a luminous base of pearlescent pigments. The jury declared: “Visually very attractive, with a light, pleasant texture and a beautiful, radiant effect.”
4- The Ingredient/Formulation Award went to the Ionic Film-Free Gel Powder Formula from TJ Enterprise. With its attractive appearance, it stands out from traditional foundations that use synthetic film-forming agents. The powder adheres to the skin through a positive-negative attraction. Its texture changes twice, transforming from a puffy gel to a light cream and then to a soft, creamy powder. The powder contains 75% water, has 96% natural ingredients and is enriched with active ingredients derived from local recycled rice. The jury noted: “A jelly texture transformed into an innovative and transformative powder with a beautiful, moist effect.”
5-The Ocean Beauty Award went to Element Packaging for Caliray Come Hell Or High Water mascara. The tube is made from 100% ocean plastic, while the secondary packaging is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paper (FSC certified) and printed with soy-based inks. The shipping boxes are printed with algae-based inks. They can be used to return empty packaging for reuse through the Pact mailing program. The judges commented: “Amazing execution for 100% PCR packaging from ocean plastic..”
